2013.03.25 Bounce, Inc

Located in Glen Iris, Victoria is a cool gym called Bounce, Inc.  Bounce isn't a typical gym - you don't go there to work out your chest on a bench press or do squats - you go there to play dodgeball on a massive trampoline arena, or dunk on a 12 ft basketball net, etc.

My apartment complex, UniLodge, organized a trip and subsidized entry fee to the gym for a night, and several of the exchange students (and local students as well) signed up.  We arrived at UniLodge at the designated meeting time, took a quick train trip and transfer over to Glen Iris, and arrived at the gym.

The day was a pretty free-form day.  There were several arenas - a dodgeball arena, basketball/flip arena, extreme arena, etc.  I started off at the dodgeball arena with several other students that were interested in playing dodgeball.

Each side of the arena was covered in trampolines.  The two teams would start laying down with dodge balls in the center, and when the game started everybody would jump up, try to grab as many balls from the center as possible, and start playing.

After several awesome games of dodgeball we moved onto another arena: the basketball arena.

The basketball arena was really just the most massive landscape of trampolines with a very high basketball net on either end.  Some of us were jumping and dunking on them, but others were simply doing flips or jumping as high as they could from one trampoline to another.  Unfortunately I forgot to grab pictures of the net, but it was pretty fun!  Here's a pic of Lyda in the arena.

Afterwards we went to the flip arena.  The flip arena had a long, single trampoline built for gaining momentum, doing cartwheels, or whatever, and eventually leading up to a massive pit of foam pieces that you could hand in softly.  The pit was very deep and filled with the foam pieces, so you could honestly land at any angle and be perfectly fine.

Like always, I had no hesitations and dove right in.

Justin was excited to jump in as well, and through himself in with a very ridiculous flip.

And finally, we headed over the extreme arena.  This arena featured much more springy trampolines, barricades to jump over, walls to jump off of horizontally, and an identical flip pit.

But by the end of the day, after hours at the trampoline gym, we were exhausted as always and ready to head home.

The day was so active, in fact, that Paco had ripped his pants in multiple places.
